about us

Bespoke
Craftsmanship, Rooted in South Africa

Rene Honeyman Jewellery is a fine jewellery studio based in Somerset West, dedicated to creating bespoke pieces that tell a story. Each design is handcrafted in our workshop, blending traditional goldsmithing techniques with modern technology to achieve precision and beauty.

We take pride in creating meaningful jewellery — from custom engagement rings to sentimental keepsake pieces — that reflects the unique personality and experiences of each client.
Our commitment to local craftsmanship and ethically sourced materials ensures that every piece we create is both exquisite and responsible, proudly carrying the mark of South African excellence.

Our Founder

A Legacy of Craft, Passion, and Purpose

Since beginning her career in 1995 as a young apprentice, Rene Honeyman has dedicated her life to the art of fine jewellery. Her deep love for the craft — and for the people she creates for — led her to open her own workshop and, later, a jewellery academy to train and inspire the next generation of South African goldsmiths.

Rene believes that jewellery is more than adornment — it’s a symbol of love, memory, and identity. Her personal approach ensures that each client feels seen, heard, and part of the creative journey.

our values

What We Believe In

At the heart of our work are values that shape everything we do — from how we source materials to how we connect with clients.

Family

We believe in treating every client like family. Each piece we create is made with the same care and love we would give our own. Our workshop is more than a workspace — it’s a place where stories, emotions, and milestones are turned into lasting heirlooms.

Artistry

True beauty lies in attention to detail. We take pride in combining traditional goldsmithing with modern innovation — ensuring that every piece is both timeless and perfectly finished. Every cut, polish, and setting reflects our dedication to perfection.

Local Pride

We are proudly South African. From design to creation, we celebrate the incredible talent and raw materials our country offers. By keeping our processes local, we help nurture and strengthen South Africa’s jewellery industry — one handmade piece at a time.

Legacy

Jewellery tells stories that last beyond a lifetime. We believe in creating pieces that can be passed down through generations — treasures that carry meaning, memory, and love. Legacy also means sharing knowledge, ensuring the art of fine jewellery continues to thrive in South Africa.
